Campbell Soup Co. agreed to acquire Plum Organics, a provider of high-end, organic foods and snacks for babies, toddlers, and children. Based in Emeryville, California, Plum Organics is the number 2 organic baby food brand in the United States and the number 4 brand in the U.S. baby food market, which is currently valued at $2 billion. Campbell's acquisition of the company will enable it to expand its core categories of meals, snacks, and beverages, as well as gain access to a new generation of consumers.
