ConAgra Closes $6.8 Billion Acquisition Of Ralcorp Holdings

ConAgra Foods says it has successfully completed the acquisition of private grocery brands producer Ralcorp Holdings. The company paid $90 in cash per share of Ralcorp common stock. The closing of the $6.8 billion transaction, including the assumption of debt, follows the approval by Ralcorp’s shareholders on January 29. Ralcorp has 36,000 employees and annual sales of $18 billion. Ralcorp produces a variety of private brand foods sold under the individual labels of various grocery, mass merchandise and drugstore retailers, and frozen bakery products sold to in-store bakeries, restaurants and other foodservice customers.
