FMCG Market Posts Strong Growth In Pakistan

Pakistan’s economy is expanding, with its gross domestic product growing at around 15–16 percent, according to Unilever Pakistan chairman and chief executive officer Ehsan Malik. Also, the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) market is expanding at about 20–25 percent. Malik said many factors are driving the FMCG market’s growth in Pakistan including Pakistanis’ willingness to spend and the expanding urbanization in the country. Also, market growth is supported by a boom in the country’s rural economy, as well as by FMCG companies’ efforts to penetrate rural markets.
