In-House Food & Drink Venture Capital Units Are Here To Stay

June 17, 2017: 12:00 AM EST
Innovative start-ups in the food and beverage industry represent a major challenge to larger players as consumers look toward “alternative” brands. That’s why companies like Kellogg’s, Campbell’s, and Danone have launched in-house venture capital units. The move provides a way for big companies to show commitment to innovation beyond traditional R&D, while helping fast-growing fledgling brands. It’s a trend that is very likely to continue, according to Richard O'Gorman of The Netherlands' Rabo Food & Agri Innovation Fund.
