Nespresso Expands Retail Capsule Coffee, Machine Sales To Colombia

March 18, 2014: 12:00 AM EST
Nestlé’s premium capsule coffee unit said it is expanding retail product sales to Columbia later in 2014. Nespresso already imports Colombian green coffee for its Grand Cru product family, 80 percent of which contain Colombian product. More than 40,000 farmers in Colombia supply coffee through the Nespresso AAA Sustainable Quality Program, up from 1,200 farmers in 2006. The brand will begin retail selling in the fall, and will open a Nespresso boutique in Bogota. Nespresso will continue to sell coffees and machines through the Nespresso Club website, and via a customer service hotline.
